70 year old male with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) on the scalp.

BCC excised in 5 mm margin

  • BCC is marked with a suture to indicate the directionality of the tumor for the pathologist

Undermining of the skin

  • By doing this direct closure is possible

Step 5: Direct closure

Direct closure with absorbable dermal sutures and thick nylon sutures in the skin.

Step 6: Bandaging

A bandage with minor compression is applied
