  1. Mark the border of the tumor.
  2. Measure the relevant excision margin and mark the margin.

A surgeons saying is: “Measure twice and cut once”.
Before cutting, make sure that the amount of tissue left has the sufficient elasticity in order to close the wound or have a reconstructive procedure planned.
