Follow-up consultation
Skin is inspected from head to toe, inclusive palms and soles.
Screening for new suspect elements.
Scar from earlier melanoma is inspected and palpated. Relapse can be seen as red or black dots near the scar (satellites) or palpated as nodules subcutaneous.
The skin should be palpated from the scar to the nearest lymph node station, or where they have had sentinel node previously.
Lymph nodes at head and neck, supra- and infra-clavicular, axillary and inguinal stations are palpated.
