Use PlastSurgeon in Claude or ChatGPT

Connect your Plast ID account to search the handbook, courses and published case titles. Answers include links so you can check the source.

Premium members can read paid learning content. Free accounts receive titles and links for that content. Editors and administrators can preview and save changes to courses, modules, lessons, MCQs and handbook chapters or sections.

Before you connect

Sign in to PlastSurgeon with Plast ID once to link your account. Use the same Plast ID when connecting your assistant. Your assistant account must allow custom connectors; your workspace administrator may need to enable them.

Server URL:

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors. Choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it PlastSurgeon and paste the server URL above. Choose OAuth authentication if asked.
  3. Connect and sign in at Plast ID. Check the requested permissions, then approve access. Return to Claude and enable PlastSurgeon in your conversation.

Connect in ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings and the Apps or Connectors section. Enable developer mode if your account requires it, then create a custom app or connector.
  2. Enter PlastSurgeon as the name and paste the server URL. Select OAuth and dynamic client registration when offered.
  3. Connect, sign in with Plast ID and approve the permissions you need. Select PlastSurgeon in your conversation.

The labels can vary with your plan and workspace. If custom apps are unavailable, ask your workspace administrator to enable them.

Choose your permissions

Read access lets your assistant search and retrieve published learning content you can access. It does not grant a membership.

Write access is optional and requires an editor or administrator role in PlastSurgeon, plus permission for the content type. Ask to preview a change first, check the locale and diff, then explicitly confirm the save. A confirmed save changes the live content immediately, also for published courses and MCQs; there is no draft step. Each saved change keeps the previous version in the version history and creates an audit entry. You can also preview and confirm a rollback. Review clinical text before confirming a change to published content.

Case search returns published titles and source links. It does not send patient narratives, author details or account information to your assistant. Do not include patient information in your questions.

Try your connection

“Search the PlastSurgeon handbook and courses for wound management. Include source links.”

Open a source link to check the answer. Educational material supports learning and requires clinical judgement.

Manage access and connection problems

To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant and revoke it under connected apps in Plast ID. To change permissions, reconnect and approve the new request.

If sign-in succeeds but the connection fails, sign in to PlastSurgeon with the same Plast ID first. If you only receive titles, check your membership. If edits are refused, check your role and reconnect with write access for that content type. After too many requests, wait one minute before trying again.

Claude Code and scripts can also use a personal key from MCP access in the admin area. Keep that key private.
